Meet Erica
Two years ago, I loved my students so much, I decided to start tutoring in the summer. Parents would get an hour break, and I would get to see my sweet kiddos. I just could not bare the thought of saying goodbye. For me, my students become my children. Each smile, each hug, every drawing hung on my classroom wall fills my cup.
That is not to say that teaching is easy. It is, however, fulfilling. It is much like parenting, except you have 30 children at one time. Depending on the school district, you can have over 120! They each have their own love language and way of learning. It is up to educators to navigate each unique need.
Such a quest can feel like a daunting task. If I'm being honest, it is. That’s why Bespoke Literacy is a partnership. I’m not just an interventionist you hire and walk away from; I’m your resource, your cheerleader, and your teammate. My students with the greatest success are the ones who have encouraging and supportive adults who stand beside them.
Don't worry. Part of the program is educating you, the adult. Each lesson is tailored to your child's needs and at home practice is designed with parents in mind.
I have become adept at leveraging my experience in the classroom, what I learned in my master's program and from being a Lead Professional Educator to analyze Science of Reading data and teach children of all literacy abilities: learning disabilities, health impairments, dyslexia, you name it. However, my real skill is taking all that complex info and turning it into practical, everyday encouragement that actually works in real life.
